My pieces tend to explore a variety of arenas and expound on my own varied interests and emotions. Typically, I focus on the relationship and intersection of science and art or the everyday in an expressionist manner. Characteristics of my work include an emphasis on texture, movement, and color. Favorite artists that have strongly affected my work include (but are not limited to): Elmer Bischoff, Mike and Doug Starn, Egon Schiele, van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, Impressionists.

Janina's Backdrop What is this?
Why?
When it's sunny (and not humid), you just want to go outside and soak up the sun. It's just a beautiful day that brightens up everything. The rain has its own beauty too, though, so rainy days every so often are also welcome.
Why?
All of them have had a strong influence on the way my artwork has progressed.
Why?
It's fun, it makes me happy, and it makes other hungry people (aka everyone) happy :)
